Peplink Hardware 10+ years out of date and high Speed WANS

Peplink has never been on the cutting edge but eventually catches up. Wireguard for VPN was catching on years ago when Peplink finally added Open VPN. And it was said Wireguard was in the plans for Release 9.x. That was 5 years ago. And 8.4 isn’t even released yet.

WiFi 6e, dont even think about it. And don’t even get me started on IPv6.

But offerings of 1Gb+ speed by ISPs has been going on for 7+ years now. Service levels of 7-10Gbps are common offerings even to residential.

I realize that Peplink was built on the concept of using multiple lower speed WANs and aggregated bandwidth, but that is years out of date.

Where is the Hardware that can deliver 2.5Gbe - 10Gbe, not to mention the througput? Everything still stuck on 1 Gbe ports. Firmware updates

And on the local side to a switch. Again, limited to 1Gbe.

What is Peplink’s timeline for keeping up with the higher technology?

Hello!

Technology has come a long way and Peplink has grown with this and the current offerings are inline with your expectations.

The Balance 20x is a gigabit router and entry level with heaps of features other routers would dream about.
The BR1 Pro 5G is 2.5Gbps - and is a powerhouse for it’s price point and size.
The Balance 380-580 has the FlexModules which increases capacity, is SFP+ ready.
The SDX, SDX Pro and EPX are also excellent alternatives going up. 12gbps and upwards throughput.

As for the switches, these has only in recent years become very popular and I’m sure someone from #Peplink can elaborate on when we can see next models.

The product range is expanding and use cases are growing with every software and hardware release and I’m happy you’re sharing this feedback as it does resonate with what others (including myself) wish to see in future products and helps drive the Peplink team with future developments, hardware features and product enhancements.

Thank you

Ok for mobile & marine. Not for 710/1350 users needing much more.

I’'m sure @PeterWest can bid in with something useful here - obviously not where we do most work

We’ve found that the SDX Pro well within our scope, and when not the EPX.

The 1350 and 2500 are also products worth stabbing at with huge throughputs.
