Peplink DHCP as fallback

Two Balance Two devices connected together via a Peplink VPN. I have a DHCP server on the remote side of the PepVPN connection issuing IP addresses. If the PepVPN goes down, I would like the Peplink router on the local side to take over and issue IP addresses. I’ve loaded the MAC addresses and designated IP’s into the Peplink, but I can’t get the Peplink to issue IP’s unless I set the Peplink to use DHCP in the device, which turns off the remote provisioning.

So primary would be the DHCP server on the remote side, and secondary would be the DHCP server on the local side via the Peplink DHCP in the Balance Two.

Not sure where to go from here.

Figured it out. On the InControl2 website, when editing the PepVPN, you must check the advanced settings checkbox at the bottom of the window, in order to be able to hit next, and then see the place to change the WAN priorty of the VPN. Change the # on the right to set the priority.

Alternatively, to avoid this all together. Just make sure that the WAN provider you wish to be primary is connected to WAN1, and the secondary to WAN2. Then no settings have to be set.
