I have the Peplink B One router with two VLAN’s configured to segment user login’s into two different ip spaces (LAN networks - main or guest). I’m using Peplink’s Private Pre-Shared Key feature (PPSK) where you specify a different shared key (password) in the web admin AP, Wireless SSID section (see screenshot).
Then, the user logging into the wireless network with just one SSID, is routed to either VLAN 1, or VLAN 2, depending on the shared key entered upon login. This is working fine with many devices. However, with one device (a Pixel phone), Peplink denies entry when the PPSK (password) for the guest network (VLAN 2) is entered (error, "could not connect to the wifi network). Entering the PPSK on this same device for VLAN1 logs it in fine.
I’ve double checked the password entered, and rebooted, and don’t see any clues in the event logs. The router is running firmware version 8.5.3.
Why does Peplink allow access to the wifi network for one device with a particular PPSK, but not with the alternative PPSK? ![]()
