Dear Experts,

I am using Peplink Balance 710 firewall, I am using a custom option in the content blocking/web filter. I was able to block and release almost all that I want but skype alone is not working properly. Skype’s audio/video calls are working but not texting. I even added skype.com in the Exempted Domains from Web Blocking but still no help.

Please tell me which category I should be looking at to release skype texting as well. Following are the categoris that I released. Except these, everything else is blocked.

*Social Networking
*Entertainment
*Instant Messaging
*Search Engines
*Webmail
*Audio-Video
*File Hosting
*Job Search/Employment
*News/Media

Can you please disable P2P/File Sharing & Chatroom to test again the Skype chat ?

There are two ways that can help verify this:

  1. Download the Content Filrtering Database and verify the domain URLs involved.

  1. Enable URL logging to check what domain URL is blocked when access Skype Chat.
