Thanks for your direction Marcelo, so what does legacy mean? Sounds like tis End of Sale, but will never be end of support? Or does support only last until the warranty has expired? The 580 seems to have been superceeded by 580X. Does this mean the original 580 will not receive any security patches etc? I guess the general question is… From an enterprise perspective, how should we manage life cycle management for this device? When should we replace this unit and why?

Let’s try my best answers…

EoS/EoL

  • As long as the customer’s device is on warranty, we will replace it with equal or better revisions. We will also provide software updates regularly with new features and address security issues. Warranty

But… BPL-580 (hw2/hw3) will receive the update to 8.6.0.

Peplink, will stop to " produce " bpl-580, but this device, will still receive major updates.

Well… I still have a very old MFA-380 working… No more updates… but still doing his job.
