I purchased a used Peplink Balance 30…only to find out it is the “classic” version, and I cannot return it. It is presently running firmware v4.1.0 build 1083, and I would like to update it to the latest firmware it is capable of, which I understand to be 4.8.1.
Are historical firmware files available? If so, where?
Is this router worth using?

Do you think it is worth using this router, or is it too old to be considered secure?
If there was a serious security issue, Peplink usually issues a firmware to fix that issue but it would not benefit from the latest features, just the security patch.
Give the router a try and see how it works for you.

Our stock of the Classics is long gone and our stock turns over pretty quickly so our is always the latest versions
