Hi I wanted to order this router and trying to find out the support for an external antenna to run a wire into the attic for better coverage. Does peplink sell a ready made 30-50 foot cable or if not can they suggest a 3rd party cable? And what antenna would be available for this, such as a 9dbi? Thanks
Separately, how well does this work along with TP Link Omada Access points?
30-50 feet is long. i’d instead place a unit in the attic with short wire. or even a unit outside in weatherproof enclosure. you can use synergy mode and then keep the main router elsewhere.
you dont specify your location or any specifics. i dont think anyone here can help you pick out an antenna with no information.
as for who makes cables, dont know where you are located? in the usa mpd digital makes decent cables.
I cannot address the first part to your question. I can discuss my experience using a TP Link Omada AP with my B-One. I have a single Omada AP acting as my main AP for the house (the Peplink AP function is turned off). It works just fine. The B-One obviously cannot control the Omada AP so you have to configure both separately. Once both are configured correctly they work very well together. The AP handles the VLAN configuration from my B-One without issue. I have not attempted to add a second Omada to the mix so I do not know how that would work. The one I have puts out enough signal to cover the whole house.
I have set my firewall rules to prevent the Omada from sending outbound traffic because I am paranoid. The AP uses the B-One as its NTP source so it should have no need for the internet. So far I actually have not logged it attempting to send outbound traffic, which is nice to see.
