PDX Power monitoring options

Hello Peplink Engineering Team,
Not sure if this should be a bug report (Firmware 8.1.0 RC 2) or feature request.

The PDX has multiple power sources:

  • AC
  • DC
  • Battery

Internally the PDX uses a large part of the MBX HD4 system, this can be seen through the menus and specifications.

We have enabled the Power input monitor threshold in an attempt to isolate why the internal battery is not recharging when the PDX is operating on 12VDC, though have not been able to find where this is monitored & logged (including within InControl2).

In the Webadmin Dashboard you can see the three power sources:

  • DC Source A
  • DC Source B
  • DC Term. Block

This is how this is presented in the PDX Dashboard (FW 8.1.0 RC2)

This is how this is presented on InControl2 (InControl 2.8.4 Release)

It would be great if the PDX firmware can be upgraded to report these as the three different power sources and the condition of those power sources including the details of the battery (or batteries if you have multiples) as can be seen through the OLED displays.

Happy to Help,
Marcus

PDX, How to charge battery?

Hello @spoiler ,
The PDX is expected to be able to recharge the three battery bays (at the same time) from any incoming power source as long as the PDX is turned ON.
Happy to Help,
Marcus
