Password-Protect Device Tag Changes in IC2

Hi Peplink Team,

Would it be possible to add an option to lock device tag changes in IC2 behind a password (or other form of restriction)?

Reason:
We recently experienced an issue where someone, while using the InControl app, accidentally tapped the star for “favorite.” This action unintentionally overrode the device tag for that unit, which in turn removed all VLANs associated with that tag.

Even though we had disabled the IC app, this action was still possible. Having the ability to lock or password-protect device tag changes would help prevent accidental modifications like this in the future.

Best regards,
Wouter

Hi,
is it nessesary for all allowed user to be an Admin?
You can reduce rights by lower access to Organisation Dashboard Viewer or Organization Viewer.
Think that they are not allowed to change anything within that roles.

Hi Holger,

Thanks for the feedback — I’ll check this further. That said, even admins can make mistakes, so it would be safer to have an additional protection mechanism in place. Removing or editing a tag can have significant consequences, and an extra safeguard could help prevent issues.
