I use T-Mobile as my primary sim and I used to have a visible sim as my secondary but it would never get past connecting, it would bounce from tower to tower and never connect. I decided to switch to pageplus to test it. It seems to have the same issue. If you have either of these working would you be willing to share your cellular settings as maybe I have something off (though almost everything is set to Auto).
I can tell you in auto it selects “vzwinternet” as it’s APN. I am running firmware: 8.3.0 build 5211
I use Visible on my MAX BR1 Pro 5G and I leave everything set to auto except for the TTL which is set to 64. You MUST activate the SIM by placing it into a phone first.
I allowed it to bounce around for about 10 minutes. It would pick up LTE, then LTE-A, then back again. Towers 2, 4, 5, 13, 15, 66 all with good signal while it searches around.
You may need to change your IP address, but assuming you have the default address, login to your device at 192.168.50.1. Once logged in, change “index.cgi?mode=config&option=main” to “support.cgi”. and hit enter. Click “Cellular module firmware update” and see if an update exist. I’m running 03.09.11.00.
So it is exactly the same. Still sits in connecting forever, bounces around. I decided to upload some images of the connecting, config, etc. to see if anything stands out to you or anyone else. I left it trying to connect for over 15 minutes today with no luck, and my firmware on the cell module has been confirmed to be 03.09.11.00Latest.
I am confused by this comment. The APN for both Visible and PagePlus based on what comes on my phone handset when using the sim for each is:
vzwinternet
which is what auto sets it to (please see my attached image including the APN). What difference would it make if I manually set it to the same APN it is automatically choosing?
Figured it out all. I decided to start trying APNs of some of the subsidiaries of Verizon. The trackfone APN worked! Thanks for helping me talk it through.
Since it seems to be both visible and pageplus (I can test both) that are doing this, I wonder if it is just how the towers are set up in my area? I know they were both supposed to have an APN of vzwinternet based on what most people are seeing. I am currently now allowing the connection to run for a bit while I test it. I still plan for t-mobile to be my primary but I want to do a good test of the pageplus sim before switching back.
