Outlook (connecting to exchange server at Rackspace) continually has an issue where it stops sending and receiving until I close and reopen Outlook. We sys admin friend of mine who also uses a Peplink suggested setting up an outbound rule to force Outlook to use one specific connection (Cable). Can you please advise how I would set this up since Exchange isn’t listed as a service?
Dont bother trying to identify the traffic. Exchange uses multiple protocols and also https. So just go with an IP-based rule. Whatever are the destination exchange IP addresses - just make the rule for that.
Set it as “priority” type rule or a “persistence by destination” type rule. Either would result in more predictable traffic flows.
