No internet wan1

I have no internet on my b-one since this afternoon. The wan port says it is connected and i see an ip adress, but i have no internet. The B-one is connected with a modem of the provider in bridge mode. When i put my pc with a cable at the modem i got internet. So that is working. What can be wrong with the B-one. I havent changed anything. This morning it was working fine and i came home from work and internet was gone. I have really no idea where to look

Put a cheap switch between them. The modem might have received a firmware update that changed something about how the network port works with autonegotiation. I had a firmware update pushed to my own cable modem by my provider that caused such a problem, $20 1Gb switch between them fixed it.

Andrew thnx for the help. I tried it now, but it makes no change sadly

i tried ping on the router at the wan port to 1.1.1.1 and no problems

Does the provider lock you to one Mac address? So it’s lacthed onto the PC’s Mac?

You can change the Mac of WAN port to match.

If you have DNS over HTTPS configured try disabling it. Just a thought if you can do ICMP to a known IP but not web traffic.

Andrew i looked at the DNS over HTTPS, it was on. Disabling did the trick. I found out that Quad9 is not working anymore since yesterday. I choose cloudfare now and it works again with DNS over HTTPS. Is that something the provider blocks suddenly or is it a problem in the router? It worked fine for months.

I was going off of symptoms and this: Firmware 8.5.3 custom dns-over-https fails - #2 by Oh_Yaw_Theng and a few other recent threads about DNS over HTTPS causing issues.

I have this problem also…one day worked fine, then neither iPhone or MacPro can initiate any traffic. I have the B-One WAN wired to a SOHO MK3 LAN port, then the MK3 WAN to the Modem in Bridge Mode. I found out that when this happens, making a connection from any port on the MK3 outbound first, then changing the session to a B-One SSID will allow the connection to be made, and will stay up until disconnected otherwise. It won’t reconnect without re-initiation the MK3 connection first. This also happened when staying at an AirBNB location, same thing. I tried all different combinations of various public and private DNS, both manual and auto, and it made no difference. If it is something pushed to the modem, It is puzzling that if the problem is due to the DoH setting, that the MK3 would still be OK, as it uses the same DNS’s as the B-One.

Update: By disabling DoH, I can now make connections to the outside world with the B-One. Seems to be tied to the issue with Comcast/Xfinity routers having been modified with a FW push.

Perhaps, but more likely this: Quad9 DOH HTTP/1.1 protocol retirement - #4 by Rick-DC
