No hotspot internet connectivity with Simplex Wireless SIM cards

Hi,
I have Pepwave MAX BR1 Mini LTEA-W with FW8.3.0 build 5256.

I have a SIM card from Simplex Wireless, the device gets cellular connectivity over cellular network, no problem. I can go to the device tools and ping successfully google.com to confirm the cellular is connected fine and is able to do name resolution.

I have not changed any of the device settings other than just set the APN name.

For some reason the Route does not seem to route traffic.

This is from my laptop when Wifi connecting to the router.

traceroute 8.8.8.8
traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 192.168.50.1 (192.168.50.1) 1.718 ms 1.829 ms 1.313 ms

3 * * *
4 * * *

I have rebooted the router many times, I have resetted it a few times to factory settings, but’s always the same thing. No Internet for Hotspot Clients.

Any help would be appreciated.

So you can connect to the BR1 and ping google.com but you can’t access the internet?

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 from LAN device?

And the cellular WAN is green on the dashboard? Healtcheck is set to DNS?

Hi Martin,
Thank you for your quick response.

So, on the router itself using “Tools” I can ping google.com or traceroute etc. I know the router has valid internet connectivity.

From my PC which is connected to the router over wifi I cannot
ping google.com or 8.8.8.8
traceroute anywhere, etc

so it is as if the router is not working as a router on the LAN side.

Can you ping the routers LAN? can you access the routers web admin interface?

Hi Martin,
Yes, I can ping the router and I can access the web interface on *50.1. I can use the built in tools in the router to see that it has an IP address
