Next Firmware update ETA for Surf Soho Mk III?

Hi All,

I’ve seen a post somewhere in these forums about 8.3.0 firmware in the context of a synergy feature.
I’m not concerned about this particular feature, but when will the actual firmware likely be released? More importantly, how can it be installed if I’m downloading it to an OpenBSD machine? Does anyone have experience using the Peplink Surf Soho on OpenBSD? Is the OS irrelevant for firmware updates so long as I can access the admin page of the browser and download whatever the firmware file is?

The OS on your computer is totally irrelevant to the router. It just needs a reasonably up to date web browser. I use ChromeOS all the time to talk to assorted Peplink routers.

Firmware updates can be fully manual, where you download the new firmware to your computer then upload it to the router. They can also be done without the need to download anything. Do the check for new firmware and if the router detects newly available firmware it can install it on its own.
