Network Traffic Analysis

I’m running a Peplink Surf SOHO 9740. I’m wondering if there is an add-on I can buy which will allow me to see traffic to and from each device on the network. I have 2 goals in mind:

  1. Lock down certain devices, only allowing them to communicate with the IP addresses they customarily communicate with. This is mostly for IoT devices, which are the highest security risk.
  2. See how certain applications and apps access the internet, and perhaps setup QoS routing for certain high-priority services. For example: We use an application to “fish” for work matching certain criteria. It would be great if we could set that traffic at the highest priority, since it is a nice revenue stream for the company.

Have a look at Untangle. Its a separate system but gives you a lot of real time info regarding traffic source/destination and type of traffic with lots of different classifications.
