Hello, we currently have a Layer 2 VPN set up between two sites. We have VLAN1 traffic assigned to this particular tunnel. When we try to add another VLAN2 to the same Layer 2 VPN, we get an error stating that the tunnel is already bound to VLAN1. If we disassociate VLAN1 from the Layer 2 tunnel, then won’t the tunnel revert back to a standard VPN?
Is there a way for us to use two Peplink Balance 305’s with Speedfusion Layer 2 VPN and pass 2 or 3 different VLANs across it?
Thanks for your help,
Danny
You can use L2 PepVPN to create a bridge and use that as transport for another device at either end (like a pair of managed switches) to send multiple VLANs across the L2 link, but you can only create a L2 PepVPN between a single VLAN on the Peplink device itself.

Hey Martin,
sorry but it doesn’t sound very clear to me.
What do you mean by “to create a bridge and use that as transport for another device at either end” ?
thank you
Just adding to Martin’s description and diagram:
For this to work you need to use vlan 0 on both peplink routers for the layer 2 tunnel. This will ensure the vlan tags are preserved when sent over the tunnel.
