My cellular 1 modem is stuck on “Initializing.” I am worried it has been damaged in transit as the other modem already says “unknown physical status.” Is there any solution known for this issue?
You’ve given us relatively little information. To start:
- What device (model nr)?
- What carrier(s)?
- What APN(s) are you using?
- Have you tried swapping SIMs/slots?
- Have you consulted with the Partner from whom you acquired the router?
Hi Rick -
I had a similar issue. SIM card in slot A worked well for many months. On March 20th, the device went offline. The site is remote and a technician was able to get to the site. the techician did reset the SIM card in the same slot it had been since it was activated. And then when she was able to login to the device she found the SIM Card status was “Initializing” and appeared to be stuck in that state.
Model: Max BR1 Mini (HW1)
Carrier: AT&T
APN: Custom
We did swap the SIM to Slot B where it was able to reconnect the device.
Can you provide any insight into why this may have occurred? And if we can take steps to avoid?
Let me ask you: Were/are you using one of the AT&T pre-paid plans that were terminated by AT&T last month? We had a couple of them and both exhibited the exact behaviors you describe. If that’s the case I can assure you this is not a “router issue.” I’m curious – please let me know. -R
No, we are an MVNO using the AT&T SIMS for M2M applications in this case, they are not the prepaid plan.
The SIM Card was not replaced, just relocated to the slot B.
