Hi.
We are looking into MBX and MBX mini for powering it up with DC 24V via terminal blocks. Will PoE work? How much PoE budget will there be? What voltage and current we need on terminal block in order for it to work?
Kind regards

The MBX platform has two DC inputs. The first will provide POE power for the first 4 LAN ports, the 2nd DC input supplies POE power for the rest.
You’ll need to provide DC power with 48-56v for POE output to work.
POE Budget is a maximum of I think 120W (assuming your DC power supply can provide that) but that needs to be verified.
Thank you for information.
This is weird for me, so device is powered by 12V (from AC adapter) and can supply PoE (on at least 4 ports), but if it gets power from terminal blocks (12V or higher up to 48V) won’t supply PoE? Why is that?
I just want to understand how the new devices work.
If you supply the device with any voltage less than 48V you won’t get POE output on the LAN ports.
If you supply 48V-56V on the first DC input you’ll get POE output on LAN 1-4.
If you supply 48-56V on the 2nd DC input you’ll get POE output on LAN 5-8.
Any DC power supplied to any DC input will be used by the router for all system functionality outside of POE.
