MAX Transit Duo Pro "No SIM Card Detected" error

Slot 2 in my 3-year old MAX Transit Duo Pro now permanently shows “No SIM Card Detected.”

Last week I noticed that our connectivity was not up to the usual levels, and checked and saw the error, but rebooting the router or Reloading the SIM seemed to help, but that no longer is the case.

I swapped the SIMs between slot 1 and 2 (verizon and t-mobile) and Slot 2 still shows the error.

I upgraded the firmware to 8.5.3 and that didn’t help.

The unit is not too hot – we’re in a converted van and temps in the US south have been chilly in recent weeks.

What’s happening here?

This happened with a customer of company…
luckily I will able to repair the sim card slot of the tst-duo.
