Max Transit Duo firmware upgrade

I’ve had this unit sitting unused for quite a while. It’s at version 6.30, the “check for firmware” button just comes back to “Firmware check pending” and has sat like that for hours. Trying to manually upgrade with firmware 8.5.1 downloaded gives me “Error: invalid firmware image”….

Now what?

Hi…

Do you have the old tst-duo (hw1)?
So… You cannot go direct to 8.5.1… You need to go step-by-step.

Go to Firmware & Documentation- Peplink

At righ side you will see “SEARCH” type your device.
Sample transit duo

check your device and hardware… Download " sample " 7.1.2 to your PC/MAC
upload the .bin file to you device, at system > firmware
reboot it

I don’t know… IF you can now try to update and go direct to 8.5.1 or you need to update to major firmware, like 8.1.3, 8.2.1 and 8.3.0 first.

Thanks, Marcelo! I have MW rev 2. Using manual upgrades, got to 7.1.2, then to 8.0.2, then to 8.5.1. The “Check for Firmware” button didn’t work at any stage.
Be useful to have some actual error messages from the system…
