MAX HD2 MBX - PEPVPN WAN RECOVERY

Hello all,

I am using all 3 WAN connections of MAX HD2 MBX to make a priority based PepVPN connection with another peer. (MAX HD2 MBX also)
In normal conditions it is working quite well, switching seemlessly between another if 1 or 2 WAN links fail. etc.

However in one of my tests, I unplugged all 3 WAN connections, waited 30-45 seconds, then plugged in the highest priority connection again.
PepVPN connection did not recover although I waited 10 minutes or so. At last, I unplugged the power source and plugged in, then it recovered back.

Can someone explain such a behaviour?

Best,

By the way, it was Layer2 PepVPN tunnel.

Not without a load more info.

The only thing that would stop a previously successfully connected pepVPN from reconnecting when WANs are added/replaced, is loss of connectivity between it and the remote peer.

Is it repeatable? If so, with the single WAN connected can you ping the public IP of the remote peer from the routers web admin?

Hello,

I repeated the same thing over an over again.
Everytime, there is no total loss. It eventually recover, but it is taking too long to re-establish the tunnel.
