MAX BR2 connectivity issue

I have a MAX BR1 MK2. I’m installing and setting up three Micro Air thermostats in my rig and connecting them to the PepWave. None of the thermostats can see my PepWave SSID. This has been a problem since day one with some devices… some see it, some don’t, and no one can figure it out. I worked with support when I bought the PepWave (March, 2022) but they got tired of it and ran away. I’ve dealt with it but now need to dig in.

My Sonos devices weren’t an issue, but my security camera was. That’s what started the realization that there may be an issue. Took a lot of finessing but I finally got the camera to see the SSID. These thermostats just flat out refused, I finally got them to connect (no clue how), but then unplugged the RV to simulate a move and they wouldn’t reconnect once plugged back in. I have a WIFI extender on board so I can run an NAS for work and the thermostats connect to that with no issue, and it connected to the PepWave with no issue when I first installed it, but that’s an extra layer I’d like to eliminate. I upgraded to the latest firmware in the MAX but none of the thermostats can connect natively. The thermostats just don’t see the SSID, though it is clearly there. The thermostats are all on the latest update also.

Oddly, the techs I worked with on support set up a ‘2.4 Test’ SSID, which also can’t be seen. Problem there is that SSID is still present and if I remove it I can no longer use the PepWave. All devices are attached to the real SSID, and nothing is on the 2.4 Test, but pulling that out kills all access.

Any insight or thoughts on this? I get that technology changes and there are newer and better out there, but I hesitate to upgrade because beyond all of the above, it is a solid device once worked around and connected to. I have no problem paying for support, but they’ve failed to address the problem and fix it previously so I’m not hopeful this round.

Following. I, too have an issue connecting to my MicroAir Easy Touch thermostat.

Have you found this article on their site?

It looks like their device requires 2.4Ghz only, and WPA2 TKIP+AES. They also mention changing the SSID to something different for 2.4Ghz than your 5Ghz network, which is annoying, but could help.

Thanks, man. I have 5G turned off. It can’t see any of the 2.4 SSIDs. And the protocols are what they recommend.
