I have recently upgraded my boat’s router from a BR1 Mini LTEA to a BR1 Pro 5GN (x62) and I want to use the 2 existing cellular antennas that are mounted on my mast - these were previously connected to the BR1 Mini. I also have a Peplink 22G 2x2 MIMO 5G antenna that I want to use along with these 2 external antennas on my BR1 Pro 5GN
I have read about the 2-antenna option for the GH model, but that is not what I am interested in. I will be connecting all 4 antenna ports on the BR1 Pro 5GN - 2x single external antennas + the 2x2 MIMO antennas.
My question is about what is the best combination of ports to connect these 4 antennas? I am interested in what is happening under the hood with these antenna ports. Are some optimized for transmit vs receive? Basically the 2 external antennas have very strong signal compared to the internal antennas but I want to optimize for the best 5G connectivity.
Hi Marcelo! Thanks for the quick reply. I have seen that video and it is referring to the 5GH (x55) version, where the firmware has a 2x2-only option. But that isn’t what I am trying to do.
I want to connect 2 separate external cellular antennas (on my boat’s mast) + a 2x2 MIMO Peplink antenna to a 5GN (x62) version = 4 total connections. I do think there is good info in that article though - reviewing…
