MAX BR1 MK2 & POW from Boondocker Injector

Although Starlink is the driving force for our setup, but really this is about powering the MAX BR1 MK2 from the POE injector from boondocker.io that I’m about to install:

We have Starlink working perfectly with the BR1 in bypass mode, the BR1 is powered by 12v from the boat house batteries but the Starlink is running of 240v plug which I am switching to the 12v and planning on dropping the Starlink router from the setup. The boondocker has POE output to power a router, I’ve read that there is undocumented features of some pepwaves to allow powering through the WAN via POE, I am not overly sure I want to risk this. A simple solution seems to be one of these:

GeeekPi Gigabit PoE Splitter, 48V to 12V 2A Ethernet Adapter,IEEE 802.3af Compliant 10/100/1000Mbps PoE Splitter

The boondocker outputs at 48v by default and I did the calcs that 12v 2a will be enough for the Max BR1. I was just wondering if anyone had any better suggestions to avoid yet another “widget” in the setup?

Cheers

Tom
