MAX BR1 Mini H3 connection

A newby here. After setting up the router the speed is less than a .5mbps up and down. Running a speed test side by side with a iPhone 12 the speed on the phone was 8mbps down and 9 up. They are both on t-mobile. The Sim in the router is out of my iPad. I don’t have a clue what’s going on so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert

Hmmm. OK, a couple of things …

First, you dont’ say which version of the Mini HW3s you have. But unless you have the 5G version the modem in your iPhone may be a higher “CAT” than the one in the router. (See here for an explanation.) So, the phone may have a slight edge.

Second, and this is the variable that may control here, I am not certain what you mean when you say “The aim in the router is out of my iPad.” Do you mean SIM? If so, one would want to ensure the SIM and its associated data plan, is OK – according to the carrier – for use in a router. One would also want to ask if the speed is throttled. Some carriers will allow the use of SIMs in routers but will cripple their speeds. I wonder if that is what you are seeing here.

Yes I meant Sim. It’s an unlimited data plan on all my devices. Two phones one iPad. I assumed I could take the data only Sim out of my iPad and use it in the router. Maybe that’s not the case. I will check with t-mobile.
Thanks

OK. While data allocation may be unlimited that does not necessarily mean the SIM is portable between unlike devices. Kindly let us know what you learn.

I will if I can get it resolved.

Well after having a tech look at my configuration and saying that looked good. I stopped at a t-mobile store and was told the sim out of my iPad was locked to a tablet device and would not work in a non tablet device.
