MAX BR1 Mini 5G Cellular Module Firmware Update error

I am trying to update the cellular module firmware on my peplink. I am able to check the firmware version by changing the URL to support.cgi. It shows my current version is RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_01.200.01.200 and the Latest is RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_17.203.17.203. But when I click “update” I get the error “Failed, cannot find firmware image”. The Peplink is on the latest firmware version 8.5.1. Is there any way for me to upgrade this quectel card to the newest version, RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_17.203.17.203, without getting this error?

Have exactly same error on mini 5G and mini 5G WIFI

@Avery.2PiFi seems it is also reported at the other thread (MAX BR1 Mini HW3 Cellular firmware issues and questions - #3 by Avery.2PiFi).

The module firmware was introduced recently, and the firmware update via the <support.cgi> page will be supported in the upcoming firmware (tentatively 8.5.2).

Meanwhile, you can load this special firmware (8.5.1s079) and it will allows you to perform the firmware update (tested working, shown below).

Hi,
we use Max BR1 Pro 5G.
I ckecked for Firmwareupdate and yes, it’s the same FW Update for Pro 5G available.

What’s the benefit of the new Firmware? Where can I find a ChangeLog or wherefor I need this update?

As our devices are on the move throughout Germany, it must be ensured that they are accessible after the update. We can’t just remove them from the vehicles and connect them to a WLAN / landline

Regards
Holger
