How does one enable GPS Forwarding on the MAX Adapter? It has a simpler looking web admin panel and for the life of me I can’t figure it out.
Hi…
Maybe I can be wrong, but…
Looking at manual nothing about the device is capable to forward the GPS data.
Looking at IC2, you can change the device to follow gps data, from another peplink device.
My MAX-ADP-LTEA-K it is not up to date… I can check tomorrow for a firmware upgrade and check again at the device and at the IC2.
I found a Release Notes about the new version, let test it tomorrow.
That would be awesome! I’m a little confused about this device since it has a GPS connection & antenna, but that data doesn’t seem to be appearing anywhere on IC2 either.
Hi, @tbreshears
Checking…
at Peplink website there is two kind of max adapter.
- MAX-ADP-LTE-EU-T-PRM ( https://download.peplink.com/resources/peplink_max_adapter_datasheet.pdf )
I have
- MAX-ADP-LTEA-K-T ( https://download.peplink.com/resources/max_adapter_datasheet.pdf )
I doing test with MAX-ADP-LTEA-K-T and not find a way to forward the GPS data.
@tbreshears may I know which version of MAX Adapter you are referring to?
We have two versions of MAX Adapter:
-
“MAX Adapter 1.0” (also called MAX Adapter Dongle)
-
“MAX Adapter 2.0” (current MAX Adapter, with ETH interfaces)
The GPS Forwarding feature is not yet available on either version of the MAX Adapters.
Could you provide more details about the GPS Forwarding use case? Our team will review the request and assess the feasibility of implementing this feature.
Hey there,
We are working with the 2.0 edition. Happy to provide more in-depth project details outside the forum, but at a high level: my company is looking for a solution that can be mass-deployed on ~2000 mobile assets to provide internet connectivity for an onboard device as well as GPS location. We are cost-constrained per each asset (which is why I like the Adapter over the BR1 Mini Core). For cybersecurity we need either VPN capabilities or the ability to directly forward information to an internal server without retrieving it through the IC2 API.
