We’ve been running a B20X, HW1, 8.5.2. When we started, we only had Verizon Wireless Cellular. Then we added Starlink.
Now we’ve got 1Gb ethernet from Spectrum, and plan on keeping the Starlink for failover (having been through Hurricane Helene where every wire was on the ground). However, we have not enabled the Starlink in the WAN VLAN section yet.
Using the Spectrum wireless router directly connected to the modem, we get 900Mb+ on the speed tests, so Spectrum is delivering what it promised.
On the B20X, the top throughput we can get on speedtest.net is 500Mb down, 800Mb up. This is after a factory reset, most basic configuration to get to the point we could do a test, and with the WiFi AP turned off. If the AP is turned on, that top throughput becomes appx 300 Mb. While running the speed test, we see CPU utilization in the 90 percent range.
The B20X is supposed to support 900Mb throughput. Is this just a hardware issue on our part? Is our device older, and the CPU isn’t up for the task? Is there some special configuration we need to do to get that throughput?
