Layer 2 configuration service backup

Is there a way to configure a peplink to failover to standard WAN connection when the Layer2 tunnel is down?

I am delivering services across an L2 tunnel but want to establish a config that keeps WAN connectivity going should I lose the hub appliance, perform maintenance or goof up a hub config that leads to tunnel death.

Thanks in advance

Not in an obvious automated way. I expect you could automate speedfusion config changes using tags in IC2 triggered by network monitoring if you were determined, but you can always manually reconfigure from L2 / L3 if you get in a mess of course.

Maybe a network diagram of what you want to achieve might highlight an opportunity I can’t think of in this moment.

Thanks for chiming in Martin
The network diagram is pretty basic. Pep appliance at my DC with VPN profile setup for Layer2 so I can deliver a public IP out the other end.

I am an ISP looking to protect business customers connections. 2 ways I see, NAT’d (L3) and Layer2 for placing public IP directly on the customer firewall. L3 speaks for itself and if the tunnel fails, the routers policies can be massaged to keep connectivity going. But, Layer2 is a different story.

I wonder if drop in mode can be manipulated to get the IP from the DC side with L2 and on failure, it NAT’s that IP to any of the active connections the customer side has.

Just trying to think of all the possible scenarios in which a business customer would want to be connected and ensure I can keep them going.

How do you envision the tag triggering setup to work?
