Increase PPPoE throughput

Requesting improvements to throughput when WAN is connected via PPPoE.

I’m experiencing low throughput in PPPoE mode, as has been reported by others in the forum: Search results for 'pppoe performance' - Peplink Community

While my DFTH connection supports 500/500 GB (down/up), when my Balance 20x is configured in PPPoE mode the best speed test results http://speedtest.net and Fast[dot]com cap out at about 120/200 GB.

Moving the PPPoE connection to other devices, including the ISP provided TP-Link Deco 50x, a Linksys EA4200 (about 13 years old) and a TP-LINK Archer AX6000, the throughput increases to the rated connection speed, using the same speed services.

Is there any reason why Pepwave devices do so poorly with PPPoE compared to other devices? Is there anything that can be done about this?

PPPoE is handled in CPU instead of in the dedicated networking portions of the chip, very common problem.
