InControl2 Sub Groups

We would like to see sub-groups under the organization
Example:

Eastern Verizon Group (main Group)

  • North (sub Group)
  • South
    Mid-West Verizon Group (Main Group)
  • North
  • South
    Testing Group (Main Group)
  • Peplink B_One
  • Peplink BR1 Mini 5G
  • Peplink Transit Duo

This setup will help us to drive our firmware updates and configurations better

How do you use groups now? We use a separate organisation for each customer, and groups within that as sites, so the group has the VLANs, rules etc for that site.

Within the group, we sometimes steer specific configuration with tags, but it sounds like you have multiple customers within the organisation?

We have multiple customers under the same organization. We want to use sub groups to drive different configuration templates and firmware deployment. We are currently using main groups for different configurations, and tags but it is getting messy. Having sub-groups can help us organize our environment. We have a lot of customers in the thousands so creating different Orgs for them can be challenging.

Hello @jlloret Jason,
We highly recommend restructuring your InControl2, as @bryn.loftus mentioned; some of the benefits we have found it provides to separate customers into their own InControl2 instances are:

  • Greater scalability between varying deployment sizes,
  • Support options within our business for our support teams,
  • Customer support options for their own support teams,
  • Personalisation of the Peplink & InControl2 experience,
  • Better management of ISO9001 & ISO27001 & SOC2 compliances.

InControl2 has a feature that allows you to move a “Group” to a brand-new InControl2 organisation, though you must break any SpeedFusion configurations at the organisational level first.

Have a good week,
Marcus
