I recently upgraded from Max BR1 Mini LTE HW1 to HW3 so that I could use the new eSIM feature.
Here’s the process I followed:
- Update firmware to latest
- Add device to InControl
- Try to figure out how to buy the eSIM. This is were things got confusing:
- The InControl UI has a button for eSIM Pooled plan, but the lowest plan there is 250GB for 2000, far beyond my needs:
- For a non-pooled eSIM (Single Device Plan), perhaps you go to the Device UI inside InControl but I couldn’t see any way to purchase from there
- What about from within the local UI http://[router ip]/cgi-bin/MANGA/index.cgi ? Nope
I started getting discouraged, thinking "perhaps InControl doesn’t support Single Device eSIM plans?
I finally figured out a solution:
Buy the eSIM directly from the Peplink Store: eSIM Data Plans - Peplink
When you purchase, it asks for the serial #.
After purchasing, the new single-device eSIM shows up under InControl just fine:
So there is a weird hole in the UI/UX: InControl can manage single-device eSIMs, but does not let you purchase.
This is confusing and doesn’t give a great “new customer” experience.
Hi Mike,
You can click “Device List > Edit > Action > Hover on Peplink eSIM Data” to find the options to top up eSIM for a single device.

Interesting - clearly either that option wasn’t there, or (more likely) I missed it the first time.
In any case, I almost wonder if Peplink needs a “baby mode” for people like me who have a single router and just want to get some eSIM data?
Thanks @phoebechoi - another question : is there a way to see my current eSIM usage (and amount remaining) through InControl?
I found a way to get the data via Reports > Bandwidth and Usage Reports > Daily > (Connection: Peplink eSIM)
But there are two issues:
- there is no total usage number across days (sure, I can add these up by hand, but I shouldn’t have to)
- The carrier information seems…wrong? I’m in southern California, and this eSIM report shows I’m using Orange (France). Surely not?
It would be nice to have a standard report showing "You have used X GB out of your plan total of Y GB (X/Y %). "
Also, I just tried what you said, and I see this:
Seems like another bug. Shall I open a ticket?
Hi Mike,
The issue has been fixed. Please try again. If the NA & EU eSIM Data Plans are still not showing, try refreshing the page.
Thank you, it seems to be working now:

It turns out there is a report for this - it’s on the device UI’s Dashboard page:
I hadn’t noticed this before since it was just showing 30GB which is my plan total, but after a couple of days it updated and is now showing the remaining data, which is what I wanted to knowl
