How to revoke access to client on balance one?

I’m using a balance one to manage my household. I have a device that I want to shut down (to find out what it is once someone complains), but I can’t find anywhere to revoke access.

Another similar question is there away to limit user access with hours. I have kids & want to limit their internet access to before midnight. Is this possible?

To Block a device
Create an Outbound Policy with the source set to the MAC address of the device in question, type of enforced and set the WAN to one that is not connected. All outbound traffic from that device will be blocked as the WAN is not available,

To Schedule Internet Access.
Easiest if the devices are all WiFi.

  1. Create a New SSID for the kids, change the password for the old one so they can’t use it.
  2. Create a Schedule for the hours you want to allow access
  3. Only Enable their WiFi Network during that period

To add a variant to Martin’s setup: If (some of) the kids are on wired networks then you can create a separate VLAN for them, and then use the outbound rule method coupled with the scheduling mechanism (to invoke the outbound rule after midnight) to block addresses on that VLAN from accessing the internet (enforce a route for them all to the Mobile Internet WAN, for instance).

If you go the VLAN route then you can tie the kids’ SSID to the kids’ VLAN, with only one schedule to manage.

OK thanks for the help. I was able to disable the device with the outbound policy.

I’ll work on the kids later this weekend. It is a mixture of wired & wireless.

I appreciate the quick response!
