How to forward traffic from one LAN to another

Hello,

I am looking for a simple solution to add remote cameras to a central NVR. I have a Pepwave Max BR1 providing internet to my NVR and another Pepwave off-site providing internet to my cameras. What settings need to be configured on my Pepwaves for my NVR to discover the cameras?

For easy discovery of the cameras a layer 2 VPN between the locations where the NVR peplink’s LAN gets extended to the remote site will be the easiest way to get the NVR to auto detect the cameras.
I made a video about that kind of layer2 vpn a while ago here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI_Ucf74IQQ

Personally though, I prefer to just do a normal layer 3 vpn and then manually put the IP addresses from the remote site in the NVR. More steps but a more versatile setup for the remote site.

Consider enabling PepVPN or SpeedFusion between both Pepwave units. It creates a secure tunnel, making all devices on both LANs appear local to each other. That’s often the most straightforward way to integrate remote IP cameras with a central NVR.

Thank you for the quick response. I have gone through the steps in your video but am still having issues. In this case, both of my pepwaves are acting as gateways for their networks. Which differs slightly from your video and I believe this is where I am getting off track. Any suggestions?

You need to configure the SpeedFusion / PepVPN as a layer 2 VPN. This is when you extend one LAN from router A to the ports of a remote router B. Router A acts as the gateway for devices connected to both routers.
