One day, I tried to restart the device, but it couldn’t start normally. I connected to the console interface and found a kernel panic. I suspect that the device has been hacked.
I tried to use the reset button, but there was no response.
Perhaps how should I obtain the BIOS password to fix it
Or, looking at the logs, far more likely the flash storage has simply failed or become corrupted.
You won’t, you could however open a support ticket and see if Peplink can offer any way to reflash the internal storage, though I think more likely this is an RMA for replacement of the hardware assuming you have a valid support contract.
Thank you for your solution, but this is a second - hand device I purchased many years ago. It is very likely that it cannot be supported. So I’m trying other repair methods.
Hi, @p1yang
You will need to…
- Look for another device, like yours, but working.
- Check what kind of flash memory it use
- buy the same kind and do a copy from good to this new one
- replace the bad flash at old device, with the new that you buyed
It works… I did this with a help of guy with flash reader.
