How to add 2nd 710 appliance for High Availability

I would like the add a 2nd Peplink to my existing infra for high availability. I have the current one set to
High Availability : yes
Group Number : 1
Preferred Role : Master
Resume Master Role upon Recovery : Yes
Virtual IP Address : 192.168.1.254
LAN Administration IP Address : 192.168.1.252
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

The 2nd Peplink has the same firmware version, and I have only configured the LAN IP address of 192.168.1.250. nothing else is configured.

What is the steps to bring up the 2nd appliance to join the HA and sync configuration?

For the slave, go to Network> Misc. Settings> High Availability - enable HA as slave, then enable configuration sync with the master serial number.

Does it affect Master availability while I hook up 2nd one? I am afraid it causes unnecessary downtime.
I have done factory settings on the soon to be slave appliance to ensure no active configuration except LAN IP.

Since the virtual IP address is already being used with the master you should be safe adding the slave.
