How to activate eSIM for global Peplink data plan?

Purchased the 250 GB data plan and updated firmware for all MAX BR1 Pro devices to 8.4.1. I can see an “eSIM” option in InControl2 for the devices, but I haven’t been able to actually switch the routers to use the eSIM. I must be missing a step in activation.

Post a screenshot of your cellular wan sim section.

I can see that the eSIM is available, but I cannot switch to it. I get “save failed” in the banner at the top. This is happening on multiple devices.

Have you tried in remote web admin manually setting the priority?

I have masked those sensitive information due to security reasons.

We have gone into the Cellular settings through the remote web admin and set the peplink eSIM priority to 1. I’ve even tried moving the cellular connection to first priority and setting ethernet WAN to secondary for sites where we have an ethernet WAN available. The cellular continues to display “‘connecting…’ (No IP Address)” while the ethernet WAN continues to show “connected” making me thing we’re not actually using the cellular connection. All sites have worked previously with a physical Verizon sim card.

Any idea why the region is “Hong Kong” and not the US?

The peplink esims used a global roaming partner Webbings based out of HongKong.
Make sure you have data roaming checked on the peplink eSim.

Enabling roaming in the remote admin GUI solved the issue. Also, it looks like it can take up to 24 hrs for a device to appear as available to add to the SFC group data plan. Thank you for your help.
