Hi,
I have Balance Two router connected to InControl 2. I want to understand how InTouch works. For example, I can create InTouch configuration to access internal servers with VNC or RDP. I wasn’t able to connect even from Intranet and getting the error “InTouch device does not appear to exist”.
Is there any technical documentation that explains this functionality and provides requirements?
Thanks
Sergey
Hi…
Maybe I am wrong… but intouch works with anything that just use a browser to do a bridge, between your computer <> incontrol <> lan device, behind peplink.
Sample…
Managing a hp printer.
Thanks for the reply, Marcelo.
I also have the same screen, but the connection cannot be established.
Are there any ports should be forwarded/opened in Router or host firewall?
Does it mean that even if both endpoints inside LAN, the traffic is still routed via InControl?
Does InTouch require any subscriptions?
Is the browser always the client or RDP or VNC clients can be also used when the connection is established?
Thanks
hi…
no.
yes… only when using InTouch.
No… It is free for any device that have IC2 subscription.
Browser is the client. Because you need to be at IC2 dashboard to use the InTouch.
About InTouch…
The good about this… I only need to be at IC2, to access some LAN device, behind a Peplink device. I don’t need to start a vpn to access those devices.
I google it
"
Peplink InTouch is a platform that allows users to access, configure, view, and troubleshoot remote devices behind a router. It can be used to connect to IP devices, remote desktops, and remote server protocols. InTouch is an alternative to setting up a second network for Out of Band Management (OOBM).
Here are some benefits of using Peplink InTouch:
- Minimal setup: InTouch doesn’t require VPNs, servers, or extra software.
- No maintenance: There’s no need to maintain additional infrastructure or software.
- User roles: Users can be created with only InTouch access, so they can’t log in to Peplink routers or switches.
InTouch can be used to access other Peplink devices, such as IP phones or devices that don’t have a WAN port.
