Hide SSID when no internet connection

Hi,

I’m working on a project where each group of users is allowed to use only a single WAN source for their connectivity. I’ve created VLAN’s for each group and assigned an SSID for each VLAN. With outbound policies in place to enforce each VLAN to use a specific WAN source only.

I would like to stop broadcasting any SSID when the VLAN can’t reach the internet - sort of like a Health-Check for the VLAN / SSID, if the check fails, then the SSID is hidden.

I can’t see any way to do this - I can hide all of the SSID’s on an Access Point or router if they lose connection to the internet, but I can’t do it for a single VLAN / SSID only.

Does this already exist?

Thanks,
Steve

That is an interesting request. I have configured some scheduled firewall rules and configured an SSID that is available when any of those rules would allow LAN clients to use the WAN, and I was just thinking today how nice it would be if the Peplink could derive the SSID schedule from the firewall rules: shut off the SSID when the LAN clients can’t access the WAN.
