HD2 Dome won't load SIM from PEPXIM SIM injector

Hello, I was recently asked to check on an issue with HD2 dome. The setup has a PEPXIM SIM injector which is connected directly to the HD2 dome. After some point, I was told that it was impossible to read a SIM card from the injector. As a first move I updated firmware to both devices (8.2.1 and 1.1.103). SIM injector detects inserted SIM(s). The HD dome has the PEPXIM configured under the “RemoteSIM Management”. I found the Peplink documentation and follow the steps precisely but still, SIM is not detected on the HD2 Dome when setting the modem to remote SIM and adding PEPXIM’s serial number. Any ideas on what is the issue here?

Hi Dimitrios,

The first are two things which I would check first:

  • SIM card is local or Roaming? Need to enable Roaming and this is done via Remote SIM settings.
  • SIM card has PIN code PIN code or not? Same as with the above, this can be done via Remote SIM settings.

  • SIM is local but anyway I have enabled roaming anyway on remote SIM settings.
  • SIM has no PIN. I have also tried another SIM without result.

could you create a support ticket ? Typically SIM Injector setup is relative simple so need to make a close look.
