Is there a API or way to read the GPS without using incontrol? If not can a timed email be sent with lat/lon formatted or unformatted.

Yes, there is a local device API, or you can read NEMA strings from the LAN, or you can get the device for forward GPS location data to a 3rd party GPS server.
