GPS Stopped Working on Transit Duo

I have been using a Transit Duo for a couple weeks, and today, for some reason, the GPS is no longer working. The map doesn’t show up on the dashboard, and GPS forwarding is just sending empty NMEA strings.

Does anyone know what can cause this? I’ve tried multiple different antennas, all have the same issue. I have another Transit Duo unit I’ve been using for years, and have never had this problem with it before.

Hello…

Try to login at your device and replace the url with:
http://the.device.ip.address/cgi-bin/MANGA/support.cgi
check for "GPS Support "

This is what I see. I tried de-activating it, then re-activating it, that did not work. I enabled AGPS, and now I am at least getting non-empty NMEA strings, but they are about a mile off from where my location actually is, so the GPS is still not working.

Okay, happy to report that it’s getting GPS fixes now… maybe AGPS is helping for some reason. Yesterday it was on for several hours and never got a fix, now it’s getting one after several minutes. It’s still getting a fix much slower than my other unit, but at least it’s getting one.

@MarceloBarros My router is failing to get a GPS fix again; do you know of anything else I can check on it? At the moment it’s been up for over an hour, and still no fix. I have another Transit Duo right next to it that gets a fix almost immediately.

Hi…
Is your equipment getting hot? Place your hand over the equipment.

It gets a little warm, but no warmer than my other units.

where is your GPS antenna placed? does it have a clear view of the sky?

Yes, and I’ve tried a couple different antennas.

Hi…
Do you know how to use telnet (windows) or putty (free)?
try to do a " telnet " session to lan ip address of your device…

Are you seen this?

I only get all sentences like that in the unit that gets a proper fix. Right now in the unit that’s not getting a fix, and is only getting AGPS, this is what I see:

Hi…
You need to open a case with Peplink.

Thanks, did that, turns out the unit was defective. Thanks!
