FusionHub Hardware Revision 2?

I just deployed a new FusionHub on Vultr where I’ve had another FusionHub running fine for almost a year. I followed the guide on llamanetworks.com where it mentions using the Raw UEFI base image. I recall the first FusionHub I set up required contacting Vultr’s support to disable UEFI whereas this new method no longer required that. Great!

Now that it’s up and running I noticed the firmware on the new FusionHub server is 8.5.1s045 build 5258 and there are no new firmware updates available. The original FusionHub is on 8.5.2 build 5282. I also noticed the new instance says Hardware Revision 2 while the old instance is Hardware Revision 1.

What’s the reason for the different Hardware revisions and why can’t I get the new FusionHub server on 8.5.2?

hey @vigilant , super happy that you found our guide useful!

I can’t answer the hardware revision question, but I just checked on my server (this is the old version, on Vultr as well) and it’s on 8.5.0. I can update in both IC2 and locally to 8.5.2.

I can also do the same on the new revision.

Can you send some screenshots? How are you trying to update? I can update locally and via IC2.

There’s no option to set a firmware revision in the organization policy for the Hardware Revision 2.

When I check locally it says no update available.

The HW2 version is UEFI based. You should be able to update it with the same firmware available for the HW1 version (non UEFI):

https://download.peplink.com/firmware/fusionhub/fw-fusionhub_sfcn-8.5.2-build5282.bin

If you want to do that centrally through inControl you can select Custom there and paste the URL in.
