Forward GPS from Starlink

Is it possible for a MAX BR1 to forward the GPS location it receives from Starlink?

I have BR1 without GPS antenna connected. It receives correct GPS location from a connected Starlink, which gives correct locations at least in the InControl dashboard and logs. However, if I configure GPS forward to a UDP port on a device in the LAN, I see no packets are being sent.

Did anyone figure this one out? Is there a guide on setting this up from a third party router / gateway (which may not be StarLink)?

I have following working setups:

  • Using Starlink GPS as position of the connected Peplink device
  • Using NMEA strings from external GPS over the network as position of Peplink device
  • Forward position of Peplink with integrated GPS to another device/IP in the network

Forwarding the position from the Starlink GPS over the connected Peplink to another device in the network still didn’t work for me. I’m curious to see if someone else succeeded in this. Another solution might be to use the Starlink API directly on the other device to access the position data, if the Peplink allows it, but I didn’t look into this further.

@PeterDedecker ,

GPS forwarding option is not supported to forward the Starlink GPS. I will move this under feature request post to allow the Engineering team to consider the feasibility.

For my second suggestion, you can attempt to use the CLI on another device:
