external IP address/access

hi,
can someone give me some advice how I can access my peplink br1 max router from outside ? do I need to configure some advanced network stuff ?
router is in my van and I would like to reach it from external … apparently this must work as incontrol app also manages to access the router over internet …
cheerz

what i would need is a kind of virtual IP address which is unique and stable regardless which WAN connection / IP is currentlx used …

There is remote web admin that is built into InCOntrol that lets you manage your device no matter what wan it is using.
There is intouch also on incontrol that lets you use that technology to access and manage devices on the LAN securely via incontrol.

If you want to do inbound port forwarding then you would host a FusionHub virtual appliance in the cloud whjich has a static IP address and then use Peplink VPN to connect to that using whatever WANs are healthy. That way the IP you use to access the BR1 stays the same even when its active WANs change.

thanx for those valuable hints … will try this out today

ok, i successfully managed to spin up a new fusionhub nano AWS instance … its running in europe/frankfurt zone BUT in incontrol2 console i still have the fusionhub device marked as offline … looks like i am still missing something ? any further hints to get this running ?

ok … again one step closer … managed to setup my fusionhub on AWS according to the manual i found, and configured the speedfusion VPN profiles and connected them … but now it just shows “…starting” under the VPN section in dashboards

 ok … done … had a mixmag in the VPN IDs … now it is green and speedfusion VPN connect up…

so the last open question is now:

  1. i have now a fixed & stable external WAN IP address from my fusionhab - I guess this will be the IP address to reach my connected maxBR1 router

  2. if I now want e.g. a portfoorwarding from the fusionhub to my maxBr1 router - how do I have to configure that ?

thanx

ok … we are getting closer  … configured portforwarding on fusionhub to internal machine in maxBR1 router segment (192.168.50.x) … and enabled inbound rules on ec2 aws instance for the according ports, but no success yet … not reachable … i must miss something still…
any hints ?
