Extending wifi with WDS

Hi,

I recently purchased two AP ONE MINIs and I’m not sure how to set up WDS to extend my wifi throughout the office.

I’m able to update the AP ONE MINI & Balance20 to the latest firmwares and get them to connect to the balance20 directly.

Here’s my ideal setup:
Balance 20 —wired—> AP ONE MINI (aka “AP1.1”) —wireless—> AP ONE MINI (aka “AP1.2”)
The manual is not clear and googling led me to this video:

Here’s is where I’m not clear:

  1. what is/are the MAC address(es) I need to enter & where do I find the MAC address(es)?
  2. do I set up the WDS in the “AP1.1” unit or “AP1.2” unit or both?
  3. do I just set up 2.4GHz, 5Ghz or both?
  4. is encryption necessary or recommended?

Hi,

    Local MAC address of remote WDS peer.

  2. do I set up the WDS in the “AP1.1” unit or “AP1.2” unit or both?
    Both units

  3. do I just set up 2.4GHz, 5Ghz or both?
    Both frequencies also no problem. If your wireless clients support 2.4GHz only, then setup for 2.4GHz.

  4. is encryption necessary or recommended?
    This is optional.

Does it mean the AP One Flex 300m can’t do it?
