Ethernet to wifi bridge options

I have an OutBack Power photovoltaic system in a detached garage whose controller has an ethernet port but no wifi radio. Garage has wifi signal from my B One, but no ethernet cable to the garage and no practical way to get one there.

I was planning (hoping?) I could reconfigure my Surf SOHO to work as a bridge. I’ve setup a wifi WAN connection, disabled DHCP, enabled IP Forwarding. The SOHO gets connected to my B One via the proper SSID, but that’s about it. Clients connected to the SOHO with a manually configured IP address appear on the SOHO client list, but do not appear on the B One. Beginning to think I can’t get there from here with the SOHO?

I’ve looked at other ethernet to wifi bridge options, and the best seems to be some kind of travel router. Surf On The Go seems as though it’s exactly what’s needed, but product is no longer available. Not sure what other Peplink product would work without being overkill?

So two questions. Am I correct in thinking the SOHO cannot be configured to act as a bridge? And if it can, what would be the config settings?

And if the SOHO is out, what are my hardware options for getting this to work? I’ve looked at a Vonets ethernet to wifi bridge, but it seems as though that gadget has some security concerns. Looked at other travel routers, such as the GL.iNet MT300 - seems like a more robust choice?

Thanks in advance for comments.

Hello, @JoeC945

Please… Can you look at this url?

I help another colegue to use his device in bridge mode.

Thank you for the reply Marcelo. Reading through the post, looks like I need separate subnets plus a static route. Let me digest all that’s in there and do some config changes and testing.
