okay, what is the difference between IP Passthrough and Drop in?
I have a MAX BR1 PRO 5G and I need it to serve as a modem for a 3rd party firewall. I would like to retain the InControl functionality, so that i can monitor it and make config changes if necessary. This will be for the cellular connection. I do not have a static IP Address, so the router will need to get DHCP from the cellular provider.
We use site to site VPNs and I need to log into the firewall remotely. So, I need to be send traffic directly to the firewall without the peplink in the way. On the other hand, I need the cellular function of the peplink.
I am not looking for any kind of fail over / redundancy at this point. We are fine with just using the cellular only.
So, I keep looking at it and it looks like the IP Pass through or Drop in Mode would work. I just need to understand what is more directly meant for my use case.
I hoping to hear, βif you want to _____, use drop inβ. If you want to ββ¦β use ip passthrough.
Thanks!
