I have a performance dish on the roof of our RV. I have a Max BR1 mini that I use to integrate starlink and cellular into one connection. I am using all starlink cables and all are new. When I run a Speedtest with the starlink running through the peplink router, my speeds are in the 20-30 mbps. When I install the starlink router and don’t use the peplink router my speeds are in the 300 mbps range. I know the peplink will slow down the connection some, but this much? What can I check or are there settings I need to verify?
A peplink should NOT slow down a starlink connection. Please contact the partner you purchased from, as they likely know your scenario best. Otherwise, open a support ticket. One possibility is that the ethernet is not negotiating properly.

I have been working with them, but they don’t seem to know what to do. They tell me to check and make sure my cables are good. I do know that when I am running a starlink speed test it is different than the one I run on my phone through the peplink. But I cannot imagine it would be that significant.
Let me ask a different question. What is the best way (parts required I know) to connect from the data port on the performance dish power brick to the WAN port on the peplink router. I can’t use the starlink cord because it is way too long. So I picked up a shorter cord from Stargear (I think).
Why are you worried about length of the oem cable? Coil up the extra. Process of elimination. Swap in a different router with everything else the same and see if it’s the peplink or not. Assuming you are using zero wifi?
The power supply for the dish is in a rather small overhead compartment so there is very little space. If I coiled those long wires up there it would be a pain to manage.

How are you connecting exactly when testing the Starlink ?
Via Starlink WiFi ? Ethernet?
What are the maximum upload & download you are getting when testing each ?
The data port on the performance dish power brick plugs directly into the WAN port on the peplink. Tech support configured that port as a starlink wan source. I have. the starlink router but have been using peplink instead. Without the starlink router I cannot do the starlink speed test so I am using Speedtest (and I know there can be issues with that, but I can’t imagine this big). I am going to do some more testing if I can find my usbc to ethernet adapter. The speeds were no higher than 30mbps in either direction.
Have you tried putting a small switch between the Starlink and the Peplink? There is sometimes a problem doing link speed negotiations directly which doesn’t occur with a switch in the middle.
Does the BR1 Mini also have a 4G/5G connection? Is it using 4G/5G instead of Starlink?
I order the supplies to try that today.
I have the starlink as the priority internet source. The cellular is secondary.
I had the same problem until I updated to 8.6.0 beta. A bit worried running on beta but so far so good.

Just reading through the thread, apologies if I missed the information. Just checking if you are using a SpeedFusion VPN tunnel from the BR1 mini?
What BR1 Mini are you using?
The latest version is the BR1 mini 5G

it is unlikely that the Ethernet cable between the Peplink and the Starlink gear will have any effect. Any CAT5e or better cable will work just fine. You don’t need anything expensive here, but the Stargear cable you have is quite sufficient. If the cabling were an issue, you’d see packet loss, not lower speeds.
What is the packet forwarding limit of the BR1 Mini? Are there any other things going on in the router? CPU loading? Are you running your speed tests using an Ethernet cable from your laptop to your Peplink router? Compare speeds from your laptop, connected via Ethernet, first to the Starlink equipment directly, and then to the Peplink router with it connected to the Starlink. This eliminates any comparison of the WiFi functionality of the Starlink vs. Peplink, and tells you what the router’s forwarding engine is doing. Once you determine whether there is a penalty for using the Peplink as a router, you can examine any WiFi differences.
