If I wanted to implement an A/A router pair versus an A/S HA model currently built into the router products, will the routers allow two devices installed in parallel and distribute loads via ECMP or do they not support that function?

No it is not supported.
That’s a great question. When we configure VRRP we have these fields:
So one Virtual IP Address - not one per VLAN/subnet on the device.
Is there a model of router or switch that does support VRRP / VLAN (up to some limit e.g. 16 or 256)?
Also is there a model that does or will support ECMP?
